According to the Vietnam Aviation Administration, with the urgent requirements of socio -economic development as well as ensuring security and defense, the Prime Minister agreed to invest in the construction of Quang Tri Airport in the way of public -private partnership (PPP) and assigned to the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province as the competent authority to approve the policy of investment in the construction of Quang Tri airport.
During the project research and implementation, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province coordinated with investors to review a number of investment items that need to be adjusted to suit the project's goals, scale and investment phases.
The goal of the adjustment is to ensure the synchronous operation of the road yard system and drainage system of the airport area, as a basis for implementing the next steps, ensuring compliance with current requirements.
The Vietnam Aviation Administration said that the content of the local airport planning is as follows: Additional system of grooves on both sides of the road to take off; supplement the border system at the edge of the apron; supplement the drainage system from the border to the open ditch system; Adjusting the position of the turning field at the beginning of 22 takeoffs; Add the turning field at the top of 4 take -off and adjust the location of the GP radio to the south of the 22 -way take off to ensure the reflection surface of the radio.
"This adjustment does not change the nature, scale or objectives of the project. Other contents remain the same as the planning of Quang Tri Airport approved by the Ministry of Transport ( Nay is the Ministry of Construction) in Decision No. 188/QD-BGTVT dated January 26, 2021.
In order to have a basis for the next steps, the Vietnam Aviation Administration proposes the Ministry of Construction to consider and approve the local adjustment of Quang Tri Airport planning to 2030 to ensure the synchronization of technical infrastructure, meet the practical development requirements and in accordance with the investment plan approved by the competent authorities. At the same time, meeting the increasing demand for air transportation, contributing to promoting socio -economic development; ensure high maneuverability in defending as well as in rescue and rescue work; ensure national defense and security of the Central region in general and Quang Tri province in particular.
Quang Tri airport project is implemented in Gio Quang, Gio Mai and Gio Linh districts. The scale of the project is over 265 hectares, the total investment of 2 phases is 5,833.9 billion dong; Invested in construction of 4C-level airport standards (according to the standard code of the International Civil Aviation Organization), is capable of developing Code E aircraft operating, allowing the exploitation of uncommon international flights as planned, meeting the demand for 5 million passengers/year and 25,500 tons of goods/year.
