On the morning of December 3, a representative of the Department of Construction of Khanh Hoa province said that Song Pha Pass (National Highway 27, section through Lam Son commune) has been reopened after a day of being blocked because rocks and soil from the positive slope overflowed onto the road.
Previously, on the afternoon of December 2, prolonged heavy rain caused rocks and soil to suddenly collapse from the positive slope, blocking the road surface and completely stopping traffic through the pass.
As soon as the news was received, the forces of Lam Son commune quickly arrived, put up warning signs, diverted traffic and organized clearing to restore the route.
Song Pha Pass - also known as Ngoan Cach Pass - is a vital route connecting Phan Rang with Da Lat, with winding terrain, steep slopes and many high slope locations, often causing landslides during the rainy season.
In mid-November 2025, this area experienced a series of serious landslides, forcing authorities to temporarily close the road for handling. Although it has been fixed, landslides continue to recur due to prolonged heavy rain, causing many potential risks for traffic through the pass.
Currently, local forces are still on duty to monitor and coordinate with functional units to reinforce vulnerable points, while implementing solutions to ensure traffic safety and avoid congestion in the coming time.
