On April 13, along Truong Chinh street, dozens of workers of Ho Chi Minh City Green Tree Park Co., Ltd. are organizing pruning, uprooting and cutting down green trees located within the project boundary. This is one of the important items in cleaning up the ground to hand over to the contractor to deploy the construction of S10 underground station under Metro Line 2 project.
To minimize the impact on people's lives and travel, green tree treatment is carried out according to the "rolling" plan in short sections. Solid barriers are installed around the sawn-off area, combined with forces on duty to regulate and divert traffic continuously.

According to the approved plan, to serve the entire Metro Line 2 project passing through many wards along the route, Ho Chi Minh City will handle a total of 453 green trees. Among these, 49 trees in good condition will be transplanted and relocated for preservation; the remaining 404 trees must be felled.
This plan is divided into two implementation phases with a total estimated cost of about 1.4 billion VND. Previously, to serve the leveling of S10 station, from April 4, functional agencies also proceeded to close the median strip at the Truong Chinh - Pham Van Bach intersection.

Officially starting construction on January 15, 2026, Metro Line No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong) is a key transport infrastructure project of Ho Chi Minh City with a total investment of more than 55,000 billion VND from the city budget. The project has a total length of nearly 11.3 km (including 9.3 km underground and 2 km elevated), with a scale of 10 underground stations, 1 elevated station and 1 depot.

This urban railway axis spans 14 wards, starting from Ben Thanh station and ending at Tham Luong depot. When put into operation, metro line No. 2 is expected to become a large-volume passenger transport axis, drastically reducing traffic jams on key routes, and creating a breakthrough momentum for the socio-economy of Ho Chi Minh City.
