On July 23, information from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Bac Ha commune (Lao Cai province) said that from the afternoon and night of July 22, forces in the area have supported the movement of hundreds of people in areas at risk of landslides to safety.
Accordingly, forces in the area have temporarily evacuated 76 households and 388 people in the villages to safe locations (schools, cultural houses, etc.); organized warning signs, sent forces to warn people in areas and traffic routes at high risk of landslides.
After implementing safety solutions for households, the Bac Ha commune government continues to monitor and update developments of floods and dangerous weather to increase propaganda to the people.
Based on the weather situation and actual inspections at the points, if safety is ensured, 76 households temporarily residing at the concentrated points will return home. At the same time, review and implement plans to ensure long-term safety for people and property.
