On May 19, Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province held a ceremony to announce and receive the title of commune meeting new rural standards in 2024 for 3 communes: Quai Cang, Quai Nua, Chieng Sinh.
Mr. Ha Cam Hong - Chairman of Tuan Giao District People's Committee said that in order to create stable livelihoods for people, the district has determined to focus resources on expanding the area of two types of trees, including: macadamia and coffee.
"Up to now, the whole district has nearly 6,000 hectares of macadamia trees and nearly 2,000 hectares of coffee trees. Tuan Giao becomes the district with the largest area of macadamia trees in the country" - Mr. Hong said.
Thanks to the revenue from macadamia, coffee and conversion of crops and livestock from new rural resources. Up to now, Tuan Giao has had many farmers rising out of poverty, becoming an advanced model in the locality and becoming a district in building new rural areas in Dien Bien province.

Congratulating the 3 communes, Mr. Le Thanh Do - Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, said that this is an important milestone, affirming the tireless efforts of the Party Committee, government and people throughout the past journey.
Mr. Do said that this is just the beginning of the next development stage with higher, more comprehensive, and more sustainable requirements.
"Implementing the policy of rearranging administrative units at the commune level, not organizing at the district level, the requirement for new rural construction is to maintain a solid and constantly improve the quality of the criteria achieved..." said Mr. Do.
According to the Project on arranging and reorganizing administrative units at the commune level of Dien Bien province, the communes after the arrangement of Tuan Giao district are as follows:
Establish Tuan Giao commune on the basis of merging Quai Cang commune, Quai Nua commune and Tuan Giao town (headquarters of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Tuan Giao district).
Quai To commune on the basis of importing Tinh Tinh commune, Quai To commune and Tangdran commune (office of Quai To commune). Muong Mu commune on the basis of importing Ma Chung commune, Muong Ma commune and Pu Xi commune (headquarters of Muong Mu commune).
Pu Nhung commune on the basis of importing Pu Nhung commune, Rang Dong commune and Ta Ma commune (Rang Dong commune headquarters). Chieng Sinh commune on the basis of importing Chieng Sinh commune, Na Sam commune, Muong Thy commune and Muong Khong commune (headquarters of Na Sam commune).
Bung Lao commune on the basis of importing Bung Lao commune, Chieng Dong commune and Sua To commune (headquarters of Bung Lao commune). Xa Nhe commune on the basis of importing Xa Nham commune, Muong Cho commune and Phinh Sanh commune (office of Xa Nhe commune).
Tua Chua commune is based on the merger of Muong Bang commune, Na Tong commune and Tua Chua town (headquarters of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Tua Chua district).
By the end of April 2025, Dien Bien has 2 district-level units eligible to propose recognition of task completion; 5 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 26 communes meeting standards; 33 communes meeting 15-18 criteria; 49 communes meeting 10-14 criteria; 7 communes meeting 5-9 criteria, with an average of 14.68 criteria/commune in the whole province.
