According to the Dien Bien Department of Construction, in the central area of the province (Dien Bien Phu ward and Muong Thanh ward), the proportion of green trees is currently weak in both quantity and quality. Planting trees in public spaces or traffic projects is mostly spontaneous and lacks planning orientation for types.
Faced with that situation, Dien Bien determined to promote planting trees associated with urban space, traffic and culture, in which the symbol is Ban Flower trees combined with shade trees.

By 2027, typical landscape routes will be formed, and sidewalk infrastructure will be fundamentally improved to initially shape the "City of Ban Flowers".
Vision to 2030, Dien Bien will complete the structure of the green tree system, becoming a green, smart, modern city, imbued with the unique identity of the Northwest region.
According to PV's investigation, Dien Bien Department of Construction has developed a plan to plan 7 key routes, turning each route into a symbolic space.
Prominent is the nearly 6km long Hoa ban road stretching from Hoang Anh street, through Nguyen Huu Tho, Pham Van Dong to Hoang Van Thai.
This will be the axis to welcome the flow of people from the gateway of National Highway 12 passing through heroic historical relics such as Muong Thanh Bridge, Hill A1, Cemetery A1. Here, all miscellaneous trees will be replaced with standard ban flowers, combined with keeping old Muong goods in the Airport area.

Vo Nguyen Giap street is also redesigned, the central avenue section where cultural and festival activities take place will be synchronously planted with large purple phoenix trees along the nearly 1.4km long route from Tran Dang Ninh intersection to Cau Trang.
Meanwhile, the urban gateway axis section, more than 6.3km long, will combine planting 100% new Ban flowers in the first half of the route and Taiwanese Bauhinia trees in the second half to create synchronous shade.
Besides the main axes, auxiliary roads also put on a new coat. Tran Dang Ninh Street leading to Victory Monument and the Raymonde Dien riverside route will be 100% covered with Ban flowers, creating romantic walking spaces for tourists.

According to calculations, just 4 main roads planned for Hoa ban already need 1,770 new plants.
To solve this problem, the province has called for the joint efforts of 45 communes and wards throughout the province. Accordingly, each locality will contribute 35 trees; Dien Bien Phu and Muong Thanh wards will support 165 trees and 100 trees respectively.
