In the days leading up to the 2026 Lunar New Year, in order to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety (PCCC), Hoa Phu Commune People's Committee coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Dak Lak Provincial Police) to organize fire fighting drills at 3 markets and the Fire Prevention and Fighting Safety Team of Village 16.
Before practicing simulated situations, functional forces propagated and guided small traders on how to distinguish and use portable fire extinguishers and fire hydrant systems equipped at the market.
In the simulated situation of widespread fire, forces deployed fire fighting formations using high-pressure water cannons to control and prevent the fire from spreading.
Through the drill, 439 small traders at Doan Ket market, Hoa Phu market, Hoa Xuan market and the PCCC safety inter-family group of hamlet 16 were equipped with basic knowledge about PCCC, helping to raise awareness, avoid panic and proactively coordinate when incidents occur.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, a small trader at Doan Ket market, said that the drill was organized methodically, helping small traders master fire prevention and fighting skills, protect property and support each other in case of fire and explosion incidents.
According to Mr. Do Xuan Hieu - Vice Chairman of Hoa Phu Commune People's Committee, the activity aims to improve the coordination capacity between forces, assess the ability to respond when fires and explosions occur in the market area - a place with a large concentration of people and many flammable goods.
In the coming time, the locality will continue to organize training and drills to help people grasp the necessary knowledge and skills about fire prevention and fighting.
Previously, at the end of December 2025, a large fire occurred in Hoa Phu commune at a business house selling electrical and plumbing appliances (on National Highway 14, Doan Ket village), killing 4 people and injuring 1 newborn baby. The victims were all members of the same family.
