Mr. Nguyen Phi Da - Chief of Office of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee - informed about the situation of sand supply for the Central expressways, as of May 10, 2025, Dong Thap has provided 6.53 million/7 million m3 of sand for the North - South Expressway Project in the East, Can Tho - Ca Mau section (reaching 93.62%).
The province also provided 2.1 million/2.3 million m3 of sand for the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Project Component 1 (reaching 90.85%), 239,285/300,000 m3 for the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Project Component 2 (reaching 79.76%) and 268,434/530,000 m3 for the Cao Lanh - Lo Te Expressway Project (reaching 50.65%).
The My An - Cao Lanh Expressway Project has not been implemented due to the selection of contractors. However, Dong Thap province has prepared 4 mines with a reserve of about 3.9 million m3 of sand to serve the project when eligible.
"Dong Thap province always mobilizes maximum sand resources for the expressway. For the My An - Cao Lanh Expressway Project, through discussions with the My Thuan Project Management Board, it is possible to select a contractor by the end of June" - Mr. Da added.
