On July 30, Mr. Tran Van Thi - Director of My Thuan Project Management Board (project management consulting unit) directly inspected the site of the pedestrian bridge project across the Saigon River, directed the urging of progress and listened to difficulties from the contractor.
According to the report of the representative of Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC (CC1), the project has so far completed about 20% of the volume. Some main items such as construction of piles, pillars, protective fences and material gathering have been basically completed. At the construction site, there are about 38 officers, engineers, workers and more than a dozen specialized construction equipment being mobilized, working throughout the project to ensure the progress of the project.

However, the CC1 representative said that there are still many problems such as the No. 2 wharf that has not been cleared, causing the TA5, TAB, and TA7 pillars (on the Saigon ward side) to not be able to be constructed. In addition, the construction drawing for the Thu Thiem embankment project has not been appraised and officially issued. These two items are currently about 2 months behind schedule.

In addition, the failure to finalize the type of railing railing rack, the failure to negotiate the connection of the infrastructure system on Nguyen Thien Thanh Street, or the fact that MA1 abutment is stuck with the existing reinforced concrete beams also affects the progress. The transportation of equipment by tractor-trailer also faces difficulties due to limited site clearance... CC1 recommends that the investor Nutifood, My Thuan Project Management Board (PMB) and the monitoring unit promptly remove obstacles to ensure progress.
At the meeting, the representative of the supervision consulting consortium also assessed that for items that are behind schedule, the contractor can compensate when there is enough space and handle obstacles by increasing shifts, increasing teams, and mass construction. Regarding quality, up to now, the supervision consultant has not recorded any violations or shortcomings. This unit also highly appreciated CC1 in establishing a construction site safety committee and operating effectively, ensuring safe construction, careful fencing and cleanliness.

Mr. Tran Van Thi - Director of My Thuan Project Management Board - acknowledged the efforts of the units participating in the construction. Although not a large-scale project, this project has many complex technical items, requiring close and effective coordination.
This is a project sponsored by Nutifood, donated to the people of Ho Chi Minh City, located in the center, expected to become a highlight, a place to visit and check-in in the future. Therefore, Mr. Thi requested to put safety and aesthetics first during the construction process.
The My Thuan Project Management Board is committed to coordinating with relevant departments and branches to remove difficulties as soon as possible. At the same time, it is recommended that contractors proactively deploy items that are not entangled with site clearance, develop plans for overtime and increase shifts to compensate for progress. CC1 is also required to plan the peak construction period, and can propose daytime construction and traffic diversion if necessary.
The pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River is about 261 m long, with a main span crossing the river 187 m long, about 6-11 m wide, the project has a total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND. The bridge is designed to simulate the shape of water coconut leaves gently floating on the river, creating a typical feature of the South combined with modern urban architecture. After completion, the bridge will directly connect Nguyen Hue walking street with Thu Thiem central square, contributing to creating a new landscape architectural highlight for the city.
