200MW hydropower plant project in Dong Nai entangled with site clearance

Dong Nai - On March 12, the Provincial People's Committee worked with relevant units on the progress of site clearance for the Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion project.

According to the report of Power Project Management Board 3 (Vietnam Electricity Group), the project implementation process is facing some difficulties and obstacles related to site clearance and materials.

Regarding compensation and site clearance, the main construction area currently does not have land to construct the pressure pipeline section to the factory; the Hieu Liem bridge item has not yet been handed over the construction site at the head of abutment B and the bridge access road...

Power Project Management Board 3 proposed to hand over the entire clean site in March 2026 to serve the construction of the main project and the Hieu Liem bridge item.

Concluding the working session, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to support localities in site clearance, support investors in connecting material sources to serve project construction; at the same time, proposed to accelerate the construction of resettlement area infrastructure, in order to soon hand over land to people to stabilize their lives; support temporary residence for affected households while waiting for resettlement.

The Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion project in Tri An commune is a national key project in the energy sector, which was started in August 2025. The project has a capacity of 200MW, and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2027.
