Participating in the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Danh Huy - Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and representatives of agencies and units related to the Project.
The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line, the section passing through Lao Cai province, is 143.29km long through 12 communes and wards in the area. The total cost of site clearance is about VND 8,200 billion.
The project has 5 stations and 4 technical stations (adjusting 1 Van Ban technical station to a passenger station). It is expected that there will be 37 resettlement areas (6 areas with available land; 1 area serving the relocation of kindergartens, 30 newly built investment areas); There are 104 projects operating in Dong Pho Moi Industrial Park, 2 Industrial Clusters (Dong Pho Moi, Son Man - Van Hoa) that must be relocated to serve the construction of the new Lao Cai station.

At the meeting, representatives of the Design Consulting Unit - China Railway Design survey Institute No. 4 Group Limited presented the planning plan for the square area in front of the station; location and design plan for Lao Cai and Yen Bai stations.
Accordingly, Nam Lao Cai station is located on the opposite bank, 1.5 km from the existing Lao Cai station. Yen Bai Nam Station is located in a new planning area on the southern bank of the Red River, about 2 km from the existing city center. Each station has 2 architectural options.
Regarding the plan, the groundbreaking ceremony is expected to take place on December 19, 2025 at 5 locations including Lao Cai Station, Phu Tho, Bac Hong, Luong Tai and Hai Duong Nam. In which, Lao Cai will be chosen as the main connecting point of the Project and the remaining 4 points will be held online.

Discussing at the meeting, giving opinions on the plan to plan the station square, station location, name; architecture, landscape, function, and use of stations... delegates proposed that the names of Lao Cai station and Yen Bai station should be kept unchanged; the station square area should be expanded to create favorable conditions for traffic and pedestrians...
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Danh Huy highly appreciated the design plan of Lao Cai and Yen Bai stations. He agreed with the opinion of keeping the names Lao Cai Station and Yen Bai Station unchanged to avoid making mistakes in management and positioning, distinguishing them from "old stations".

Regarding the architecture of Lao Cai station, choosing option 1, the consulting unit needs to study and add more vertical shapes to bear the strong mark and characteristics of Lao Cai region.
Regarding the architecture of Yen Bai station, you should choose option 2 and add more characteristics of terraced fields...
The consulting unit needs to study and supplement the approach plan for the bus route at the station square area; During the research process, it is necessary to review and compare infrastructure investment options (bridges, tunnels...) to ensure the effectiveness of the project.
