After many consecutive days of traffic congestion, on January 11 (Saturday), most of the roads in the center of Ho Chi Minh City such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Le Duan, Hai Ba Trung, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia,... became clear, traffic was relatively convenient.

Traffic congestion only occurs on some routes such as Pasteur (the section connecting Ham Nghi to Le Loi), the Tran Hung Dao and Ton That Thiep monument areas because some routes such as Ton Duc Thang and Nguyen Hue are restricted to conduct drills on emergency response plans for fires and explosions and organize evacuation, fire fighting, rescue and relief.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Lan (technology car driver) said he was very surprised with the traffic situation in the center today.
"A few days ago, all the roads leading to the city center were congested and it was very difficult to travel, but today is the weekend, the number of people participating in traffic has decreased, combined with the fact that some intersections have been installed with lights allowing right turns on red, so moving around is quite convenient," Mr. Lan shared.

In recent days, many roads in Ho Chi Minh City have been continuously congested and stuck in traffic for hours. The reason is said to be that Tet is approaching, so the number of vehicles has increased; in addition, people no longer dare to climb the curb or turn right at red lights for fear of being fined with a high fine, which has also increased the congestion.

Faced with this situation, the Ho Chi Minh City Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport) has reviewed and proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport deploy right turn signals at 50 intersections across the city.
According to a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center, after completing the installation of right turn signals at 50 points, the center will continue to expand the installation at other intersections that meet safety conditions.
