The National Highway 28B Renovation and Upgrade Project, the section passing through Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces, has a total length of about 69 km, of which the section passing through Binh Thuan is about 51 km long. The total cost is more than 1,400 billion VND.

The investor is the Vietnam Road Administration and the project management unit is Project Management Board 5. Since April 2024, this project has been started. The contractor has arranged many construction teams at the locations where the site has been allocated.

Many bad road sections make it difficult for vehicles to travel
It is noted that on this route, many locations on the road surface are crushed stone, so motorbikes can easily slip and fall. Some locations are dirt roadbeds and have to run down slopes and then slopes because one side is under construction and the other side is for traffic.

Construction materials are gathered along the road. Many locations are being constructed with ropes because the mountainside is scraping the cliff to expand the site. There is also a pass abyss with additional soil to expand.

After the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway was built, many cars chose this route, turning onto National Highway 28B at the intersection to go to Da Lat, so they recorded a large traffic volume.
On this route, there are many curves, combined with a construction road surface with gravel, so drivers must be careful when going down the pass to avoid slipping. Many cars with low ground when passing through construction sites have their ground touched, or it is difficult to climb high slopes.
Dust flies everywhere, obstructing visibility in the middle of the pass
Because the construction road surface has gravel and rocks on the ground, many locations are covered with dust if cars run passing by. In particular, the dust makes it difficult to see the driver's road from km48 to km52, the section bordering the two provinces of Lam Dong - Binh Thuan. In addition, dump trucks carrying materials and road construction vehicles also cause dust to fly everywhere.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang - a local resident living in this area said that riding a motorbike through this dusty area, he could not see a running track when a car passed by. If there are many cars passing by, they have to wait a long time for the dust to dissipate. Every time he passed by, the dust covered his clothes and especially flew into his eyes.

Going here in person, the reporter rode a motorbike through the area and recorded dust flying everywhere, unable to see the vehicles in circulation. The dust was thick, covering the wearer's glass.
The project site clearance has not yet been completed
According to the project site clearance progress report, the People's Committee of Bac Binh district, Binh Thuan province said that up to now, the locality has basically completed the work of considering the legality and approved the District Compensation Council for relevant organizations, households and individuals.
The district has handed over the area managed by the People's Committees of communes and mobilized 2/538 households to hand over the site to the construction unit with a total area of 23.4 hectares/51.3 hectares, reaching a rate of 45.6%.
Currently, Project Management Board 5 is implementing the construction of the Km 0 - Km 42 section and the Km 42 - Km 51 section. The value of the completed volume of construction package No. 1 (km 0 - Km2) reached 11.74%, construction package No. 2 (km 42 - Km 69) reached 27.47%.

Underwater the sections under construction with crushed stone to ensure visibility
Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Binh Thuan province Cao Son Dung requested the Vietnam Road Administration to direct Project Management Board 5 to implement the project to Upgrade and Renovate National Highway 28B, the section passing through Binh Thuan province, to be complete, neat, and not to spread the construction items.

During the construction process, pay attention to ensuring traffic safety on the route, regularly patching up damaged potholes, and watering the sections under construction with crushed stone to ensure visibility for vehicles to circulate smoothly.
