On the morning of March 4, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to hand over and receive troops in 2026, sending off the outstanding children of their homeland to go on the mission of protecting the Fatherland.

Attending the ceremony were Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Mr. Thai Dai Ngoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee.

In 2026, Gia Lai province is assigned to select 5,697 citizens to perform military service and the obligation to participate in the People's Police. Of which, 4,950 citizens enlist in the Army, handed over to 14 units to receive troops; 747 citizens perform the obligation to participate in the People's Police, handed over to 4 units.

The troop handover and reception ceremony was held at 14 locations throughout the province, ensuring solemnity and safety, becoming a festival for young people on their way to protect the Fatherland.

Speaking to encourage young people before leaving, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Standing Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - praised the union members and young people for strictly complying with the enlistment decision, ensuring troop numbers, on time, showing a sense of responsibility to the Fatherland.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized that the country is entering a new era - an era of national rise, realizing the goal of building a society "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization". In the context of the complicated world and regional situation, hostile forces using all means to sabotage, the task of building and protecting the Fatherland poses increasingly high requirements for the armed forces and the young generation.

The spirit of being ready to set off to perform the sacred duty to the Fatherland of you today is a worthy continuation of the tradition of previous generations, showing passionate patriotism.

I sincerely thank the families and parents who gave birth, nurtured, and educated the outstanding children so that today you can become soldiers of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", "People's Police soldiers", shouldering the glorious responsibility of protecting the Fatherland, maintaining security and social order.

I hope that young people will continue to promote the precious traditions of the nation, of the heroic homeland and the glorious traditions of previous generations of fathers and brothers; constantly strive, study hard, practice, strictly adhere to discipline, and excellently complete all assigned tasks," Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh expressed.

Le Thanh Vinh (resident of area 3, Quy Nhon Dong ward) shared: "I am very honored to wear the army uniform. Before leaving, my family had instructed and encouraged me. That is a valuable spiritual baggage for me to overcome all difficulties and challenges. I promise that I will strive to train myself and complete all assigned tasks well.

Moved and proud at the moment her son - Le Cong Vinh - enlisted, Ms. Truong Thi Dao (Quy Nhon Nam ward) said: "My son is a university student but he decided to put aside the lecture hall and volunteer to write a military application. As a parent, I am very honored and proud of my son. I hope my son will take care of his health and complete the tasks assigned by the Fatherland well.

Every year, Gia Lai has thousands of young people enthusiastically enlisting in the army. Through the training environment in the Army and Police, many young people grow up, become cadres, commanders or useful citizens for society, contributing to continuing the heroic homeland tradition.
