On July 7, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) informed about the implementation of component project 3 - part of Long Thanh International Airport project phase 1 (abbreviated as Long Thanh airport)
The Long Thanh airport component project 3 has a total investment of more than VND 99,000 billion, including 14 packages. Up to now, 3 packages have been completed, 9 packages are under construction, the remaining 2 packages are about to select contractors.
According to ACV, from the beginning of May 2025 to now, the weather at the construction site (Dong Nai province) has changed unfavorably when the rainy season arrived about a month earlier than expected. Continuous heavy rain with heavy rain has seriously affected the entire construction work, disrupting many items, especially underground works such as technical pilotons, drainage systems, roadbeds, etc.
In addition, the work of mobilizing workers for the project has encountered many difficulties...
Despite many challenges, at the current construction site, the units still maintain the construction progress with hundreds of deployment teams, mobilizing nearly 13,000 experts, engineers, workers, laborers and nearly 3,000 construction equipment to speed up the progress with the goal of basically completing the project by the end of 2025, putting it into operation and commercial exploitation in the first half of 2026 in accordance with the Prime Minister's request.
For package 5.10, construction of the passenger terminal (considered the gantt road for the progress of the entire Long Thanh airport project), the consortium of contractors mobilized to arrange 4,428 personnel and more than 1,000 machines and equipment to carry out the construction.
Currently, the rough construction work has reached nearly 79.5% and is being completed such as water painting, ceilings, installation of aluminum frame glass walls in the central area and the station wings...
Regarding station equipment such as: luggage handling system, checked baggage screening system, train parking system, escalator system, pedestrian elevator, elevator system... are also being urgently implemented...
