The project aims to preserve and promote the value of natural landscapes, effectively exploit ecological potential associated with local cultural identity, and make Kon Ka Kinh National Park an attractive, professional and sustainable eco-tourism destination of Gia Lai province.
Revenue from tourism will be reinvested in biodiversity conservation and restoration and promoting local economic development.
Striving to 2030, Kon Ka Kinh National Park will attract at least 3 investors to participate in joint ventures and linkages to develop ecotourism; basically complete tourism and conservation infrastructure such as patrol roads combined with tourism, parking lots, animal rescue centers, botanical gardens, accommodation areas and auxiliary works.
This phase will focus on developing 3 key tourist destinations including the Administrative Service Center, Bai Nai Eco-resort and Kon Ka Kinh Eco-resort; forming typical intra-regional and inter-regional tourist routes.
By 2045, revenue from tourism activities is expected to reach about 78 billion VND/year, corresponding to an average spending level of 1.5 million VND per visitor. In which, revenue from forest environment leasing reaches at least 2 billion VND/year.
According to the orientation, Kon Ka Kinh National Park will develop 2 new tourist destinations including Suoi Ngoc cultural and ecological experience point and Nha Dam cultural and ecological experience point to diversify products, diversify visitor flows and attract at least 4 potential investors.
Tourism activities will be connected with the Bahnar community and neighboring destinations, contributing to creating sustainable livelihoods, reducing pressure on forest resources and towards self-sufficiency of about 80% of forest protection and biodiversity conservation costs, making Kon Ka Kinh a modern eco-tourism center of the Central Highlands region.
According to the project, the total planned area for 5 eco-tourism, resort and entertainment venues is more than 1,086ha, located in the service - administrative sub-zone and the ecological restoration sub-zone.
5 locations include the Administrative Service Center (53.2ha), Bai Nai Eco-tourism Experience Point (339.26ha), Kon Ka Kinh Eco-tourism Point (100ha), Suoi Ngoc Eco-culture Experience Point (113.88ha) and Nha Dam Eco-culture Experience Point (480.29ha).
The project also plans 12 eco-tourism routes based on existing forest protection patrol routes and trails, with a total length of about 201km.
The total estimated cost of the project is more than 539 billion VND, of which socialized capital is more than 473 billion VND and other legal capital sources are more than 65 billion VND. The project is implemented in 2 phases including 2026-2030 with a total capital of more than 298 billion VND and 2031-2045 with more than 240 billion VND.
