On November 16, due to the impact of the weather, Son Lang commune (Gia Lai province) experienced prolonged heavy rain. Water levels in rivers, streams and underground areas will rise and flow rapidly.
Currently, some points have been deeply flooded, posing a potential risk of insecurity, including: the culvert connecting village 2 with To Kur village; underground bridges in villages 1, 3, 4 and the road leading to Dam Khuong area.
According to the warning of the Gia Lai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from November 16 to November 20, a flood will occur on rivers in the province. Flood peaks on rivers are likely to reach alert level 1 to alert level 2; only Kon and Ba rivers can reach alert level 2 to alert level 3, and some places may exceed alert level 3.
The risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and localized flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, residential areas and urban areas is warned at a high level. Small and vulnerable hydropower and irrigation works need to have measures to ensure safety.
To protect people's lives and property, Son Lang Commune Police recommend: Absolutely do not cross rivers, streams, culverts, or overflow when it rains heavily or the water flows rapidly.
Limit going out during bad weather; especially remind children, students and the elderly to ensure safety.
As soon as dangerous areas, landslides or people are stuck are detected, they should immediately report to local authorities or commune police forces.
In Gia Lai, communes such as Son Lang, Po To, Ia Pa, Ayun Pa, Sro, Ia Tul, Uar... are often affected by heavy rain, flooding, landslides affecting the socio-economy.
