On October 20, the People's Committee of Ia Ly commune (Gia Lai province) reported to the Department of Construction about the landslide situation on the local 500kV Station operation route.
Through monitoring, the landslides and subsidence at the route to OPY 500kV Station ( Ia Ly Hydropower Plant) are complicated, with the risk of landslides on the entire surface and roadbed. The affected area extends from the intersection of Le Hong Phong - Pham Van Dong road to about Km 0+400.

In the face of the above situation, from October 16, the People's Committee of Ia Ly commune coordinated with Ia Ly Hydropower Company to organize the placement of ropes, put up warning signs, prohibit people and vehicles from traveling on this route, and temporarily instruct people to travel through the Mun village road of the commune.
At the same time, direct the Commune Police force and functional departments to inspect, monitor and notify people of the situation to proactively prevent.

The People's Committee of Ia Ly commune has requested Ia Ly Hydropower Company to urgently report to Vietnam Electricity Group to soon find solutions to overcome this problem, ensuring the travel of staff and employees of OPY Station 500kV and local people.
This route is managed and operated by Ia Ly Hydropower Company. The landslides have appeared since 2022, but have recently become increasingly serious. Currently, the landslide is about 400m long, many locations have sunk deeply, completely breaking the road surface, causing traffic paralysis.

According to Mr. Le Van Yen (a resident living near the landslide area), about 4 years ago, prolonged heavy rain caused serious landslides on this road. Recently, consecutive heavy rains have caused deep digging in the area, sweeping away many trees and crops of the people.
Mr. Ro Cham Tam - Vice Chairman of Ia Ly Commune People's Committee - said that the landslide area has 6 households living, of which 1 household was directly affected, the house sank, and could not be used, and the locality has supported the rent of a temporary house. The remaining 5 households are being mobilized to relocate and will be provided with temporary accommodation. Ia Ly commune is seeking opinions from superiors to arrange resettlement land for 6 households in the danger zone.
Mr. Doan Tien Cuong - Director of Ia Ly Hydropower Company - commented that this is likely a type of underground break, it is necessary to wait for the authorities to determine the cause to have a suitable handling plan.
"We have reported to Vietnam Electricity Group and coordinated with the commune government. In the immediate future, officers and people must take a detour to ensure safety," Mr. Cuong informed.
