On November 13, Mr. Tran Ngoc Sang - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province, said that the locality has mobilized the forces of the Army, Police, Youth Union... to focus on repairing, reinforcing and re-roofing houses for households in Pho Thuan commune whose roofs were blown off by the tornado.
Previously, on the night of November 12, heavy rain and tornadoes occurred in Pho Thuan commune, Duc Pho town, causing 33 houses to have their roofs blown off. Of these, one house had its roof completely blown off and its walls collapsed; three houses had their roofs blown off from 30 to 50%, and 32 houses had their roofs blown off less than 30%. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
According to Mr. Tran Ngoc Sang, due to the influence of the tropical depression, during the day and night of November 12, there was continuous heavy rain in Quang Ngai province. Water from the upstream flowed downstream, causing the water level of Tra Cau River in Duc Pho town to rise rapidly, causing flooding (less than 1m) at 72 houses of households in residential group 1, Pho Minh ward. The Military Command and Police of Pho Minh ward used boats and specialized cars to approach and evacuate these households to safety. The bank of Tra Cau River, through Pho Minh ward, had many sections with landslides.
Currently, the People's Committee of Duc Pho town is directing local authorities to review the damage and take measures to support households to quickly overcome the damage caused by floods and tornadoes to soon stabilize their lives and production.
