On the afternoon of December 31, the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center (Hanoi Department of Construction) informed about the plan to organize public passenger transport by bus and urban railway during the New Year holiday in 2026.
Accordingly, during the holiday period from January 1 to the end of January 4, 2026, all bus routes in the city operate from 4:30 AM to 10:30 PM daily (on January 4 starting from 5 AM). The total number of bus trips arranged is more than 17,000 trips/day, with a frequency of 5–30 minutes/trip, basically implemented according to the normal day and Sunday charts.
In addition, the Center plans to increase service on over 20 bus routes, arrange 42 backup vehicles with about 100 increased trips, focusing on routes connecting bus stations, transfer points, large urban areas and areas with high travel demand during the holidays.
For public passenger transport by urban railway, routes 2A (Cat Linh - Ha Dong) and 3.1 (Nhon - Hanoi station) maintain operating hours from 5:30 am to 10 pm daily, with a frequency of 10 minutes/trip. Each route operates about 200 train trips/day, implemented according to the holiday schedule.
