Hanoi directs inspection of illegal pond and lake filling and construction in Dinh Cong

HỮU CHÁNH |

Hanoi leaders assigned Dinh Cong ward to check and handle information about leveling ponds and lakes, illegally constructing works on public land and agricultural land in the ward.

The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee has just issued Official Letter No. 10110/VP-NNMT on handling press reports on the situation of leveling ponds and lakes and constructing many works with signs of being illegal on public land and agricultural land in Dinh Cong ward.

Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Trong Dong requested Dinh Cong ward to inspect, take measures to handle in accordance with legal regulations and report the implementation results to the City People's Committee before July 10, 2025.

Previously, the press agency published an article reflecting on the situation of "Hanoi: ponds and lakes are "done", a series of constructions with signs of being illegal in Dinh Cong ward".

This reflects the painful situation in Dinh Cong ward when many ponds are filled with construction waste, then quickly "grow" into illegal constructions such as factories, warehouses, parking lots... Even some large lakes have been "transformed" into fishing stocks with toll fees.
