Implementing the strategy of developing Vietnam's rice export market to 2030, Hanoi City will promote support for farmers in converting the structure of high-quality commodity rice production, meeting export standards, while increasing product value. Hanoi City also strives to connect and build raw material areas, form production and consumption chains, and expand rice export markets.
According to statistics, Hanoi currently has more than 200 concentrated rice production areas, with a total area of about 40,000 hectares. Of which, there are 16 commodity rice production areas according to export standards in 16 communes, achieving an increase of 10-15% compared to other rice varieties cultivated using traditional methods. Currently, Hanoi has 10 enterprises granted rice export business licenses by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Hanoi continues to maintain and develop 200 regions producing Japonica and high-quality rice in a safe, VietGAP, organic direction, meeting export standards. At the same time, the city is forming and developing 3-5 herbal rice production areas and building 3-5 domestic and export consumption chains.
In addition, Hanoi City also actively supports cooperatives and enterprises applying high technology and 4.0 technology in the production, processing, packaging, processing and consumption process, in order to increase production value. The city also focuses on building and protecting geographical indications, trademarks, and product brands associated with traceability codes, while promoting the registration and management of rice growing area codes, ensuring export criteria.
