Sir, you have just admitted to being a loyal reader of Lao Dong Newspaper, why did you choose Lao Dong among many newspapers?
- Perhaps because I have experience in "ideological" work in the army, I really like reading newspapers. Especially when I was Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, I read many newspapers to grasp the situation in the area outside of documents and reports. And Lao Dong Newspaper is one of the newspapers I like to read and read regularly. I like Lao Dong Newspaper not only because it is one of the political newspapers with high status and prestige in the Vietnam Revolutionary Press, but also because the newspaper is also a channel that provides sensitive, news and especially high accuracy information. On the other hand, the newspaper always ensures harmony between two seemingly opposite elements: resistance and construction. That is always using "river" to "build" me, giving me high confidence and giving me many useful things in handling work.
Among the benefits from Lao Dong Newspaper, what impressed you the most?
- During my time as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province and then Deputy Head of the Southwest Steering Committee, I applied a lot of information from Lao Dong Newspaper to my work. This official source has helped me refer to, study to accumulate experience and suggest many ideas for correct and timely direction. Among these beautiful memories, the most impressive is the use of information to launch a program to send workers abroad to work for a limited period of time, abbreviated as labor export.

In 2001, when I was Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, during a time reading Lao Dong Newspaper, I was impressed by the socio-economic efficiency of labor export work. This is a very new job nationwide, so there should be many challenges, but with a sense of responsibility towards my hometown, towards poverty reduction in the locality, I have proactively thought about and found a way to realize it right in my hometown. After that, I brought the issue to the meeting of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. Through analysis, discussion and criticism, the collective finally reached an agreement and Dong Thap joined the labor export program in 2002.
When I was Deputy Head of the Southwest Steering Committee, also from information in Lao Dong newspaper, especially the Mekong Delta sidewalk, it helped me have a general and specific view of the general situation as well as the negative aspects of the region. Thereby, it helps me fully grasp the current situation and basic needs of the whole region, thereby exchanging and proposing to the Government quickly and specifically.
Sir, do you still maintain the habit of regularly reading Lao Dong newspaper and how do you feel?
- After retiring, I still regularly read Lao Dong Newspaper, but at a more advanced level than before, I read it electronically (laughs). And I am very happy to see that Lao Dong Newspaper still maintains the core style of revolutionary newspapers. Still ensuring punctuality, emphasizing purpose, not getting caught up in thrilling stories... but still attracting readers with accuracy and reliability. In particular, the newspaper is still at the forefront of encouraging good things, spreading kindness to convey positive energy to readers.

Through Lao Dong Newspaper, I feel happy to have the central media agency accurately record and reflect information about Dong Thap province with many positive information. Dong Thap is not only one of the few localities that has been in the top of the country for many consecutive years in terms of management work, provincial competition index, green development index... but also in the top of the country in terms of quantity and quality of sending workers to work abroad for a limited period of time.
In particular, through reflecting and especially the organization of the workshop "Going to work for hire - becoming a boss" organized by Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with the People's Committee of Dong Thap province on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the first issue of Lao Dong Newspaper, I am even more proud of the remarkable progress of the young generation of leaders of the province when steering labor export activities to new heights - reaching the dual goal: both helping many citizens of Dong Thap escape poverty and creating conditions for workers after working abroad to promote accumulated knowledge to start a business, become owners, both solving jobs for many people in the village and commune with stable income, and contributing to supporting farmers to actively solve the output of many local agricultural products.
