According to the Hanoi City Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board, from September to the end of December 2025, the contractor will move and cut down 2,628 trees within the clearance area of the project at the intersection between Ring Road 3.5 and Thang Long Avenue (old Hoai Duc District).
Of which, 2,193 trees are not urban trees (such as avocado, king areca, monk fruit, acacia, longan, guava, fig, etc.) and 435 trees are urban trees (small leafled banyan, green, incense, incense sticks, milk flowers, flower slices, sesame, muong, phoenix, etc.).
It is expected that the contractor will move 284 trees to fixed plantings on both sides of the roads; premises of schools, cultural houses, sports centers, flower gardens, commune People's Committee headquarters, cemeteries... in the communes of An Khanh, Son Dong, Hoai Duc, Duong Hoa (Hanoi city); 111 shade trees (including 99 flower slices and 12 milk flowers) to the unit's nursery for care, after the project has a construction site, they will be transferred to planting and care according to approved design documents before handing over to the city for management.
2,233 shade trees cut down are mainly acacia (1,586 trees), the rest are king areca, mangrove, flower leaves, royal poinciana, longan, guava, crocodile, apple, acupressure, xoan... which are not on the list of urban trees and urban trees with curved, rotten, old, dead trees.
In addition, the units will move 501 single trees such as peach trees, hibiscus, pine pine pine trees, bougainvillea flowers, etc. to plant and take care of them regularly in the vacant land on both sides of the roads; the premises of schools, cultural houses, sports centers, flower gardens, commune People's Committee headquarters... in the communes of An Khanh, Son Dong, Hoai Duc, Duong Hoa; move 97 peach trees and 83 oil pine trees to the construction unit's nursery garden to nurture trees, after the project has a construction site, they will be moved to plant and care for them.
The investment project to build a different level intersection between Ring Road 3.5 and Thang Long Avenue was started in April 2025 with a total investment of nearly VND 2,400 billion.
The scale of the construction of the intersection includes turbine branches combined with direct underpasses: Direct underpass in the direction of Le Trong Tan Street (now Hoang Tung Street) to National Highway 32, the center of the route coincides with Hoang Tung Street, arranging 4 lanes with a total length of 975m. The section under Thang Long Avenue is designed with a closed tunnel 150m long. On Hoang Tung Street, an open tunnel is designed 157.5m long, with a 220m long retaining wall.
On the side of National Highway 32, an open tunnel is designed 157.5m long, with a 200m retaining wall. The turbine branch bridge with a prestressed reinforced concrete beam has a length of 2,357m/4 branches, the width of the bridge is 8.8m, arranged with 2 lanes, the reinforced concrete retaining wall has a total length of 619 m.
