The provincial road 70 construction project was approved by the Hanoi City People's Committee in March 2024. The project has a total investment of more than 3,377 billion VND, invested by the Tay Mo Ward People's Committee.
The extended section is about 4.95km long, section 1 from Trinh Van Bo street to Nga bridge is 3.25km long, cross-section 50m; section 2 from Thang Long Avenue to Ngo Thi Nham street extends about 1.7km long, cross-section 40m.
The total area of land recovered to serve the project is 229,319.6m2, of which Xuan Phuong ward is about 140,885.3m2 (accounting for 61.4%); Son Dong commune 19,554.7m2 (accounting for 8.6%); Tay Mo ward 68,879.6m2 (accounting for 30%).



According to Lao Dong's records, on Highway 70 section passing through Xuan Phuong ward, many workers are pruning branches and cutting down a series of ancient mahogany trees on the roadside.
At the scene, dozens of ancient acacia trees have been cut down. Many trees have trunk diameters of up to 100cm. After being sawn, the trunk will be marked, put on specialized vehicles and transported to the gathering point.
According to statistics, there are 196 green trees located within the construction area of the 70th road expansion project, the section from the railway overpass to Nga bridge.
Among them, there are 50 moving trees, including trees such as banyan trees, milk flowers, mahogany trees, banyan trees... These trees have trunk diameters from 4 - 70cm; height from the ground to the peak of growth of the main tree trunk from 4 - 13m, growing normally.
These trees will be planted permanently at the land plot at the intersection of provincial road 70 with Thang Long Avenue. The trees will be cared for, ensuring stable growth and development for at least 12 months. Then they will be handed over to the management unit to maintain according to decentralization.





There are 146 green trees cut down, including 105 acacia trees, trunk diameter from 12 - 110cm; height from the ground to the peak of growth of the main tree trunk from 4 - 15m.
Some trees that have been cut down have rotten trunks, rotten roots, are old, roots are deep underground or do not belong to the list of urban trees.
The green trees that are cut down will be brought back to the warehouse for preservation and auctioned off. The money collected after the auction is paid into the state budget.
After completing the relocation and felling of green trees, the contractor will simultaneously deploy items throughout the project.



The 70th Street expansion project is expected to be completed in July 2027, after about 600 days of construction.
When completed, the road will directly connect the National Highway 32 - Ha Dong area, contributing to reducing traffic pressure on roads in the area, promoting socio-economic development of the locality.
