From 0:00 on May 28, 2026, Long Bien Bridge will officially restore the original traffic organization plan after completing the sudden repair of the road section.
Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Construction - Mr. Tran Huu Bao has just signed a notice to reopen motorbikes, rudimentary vehicles and pedestrians on Long Bien bridge according to the old plan to ensure traffic safety and meet people's travel needs.

Accordingly, people can move in both directions between Bo De ward and Hoan Kiem ward on the sidewalk, road for motorbikes and rudimentary vehicles that has been repaired and completed.
The emergency repair of these items has been implemented in the past time to ensure safety for the Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line running on the bridge.
To ensure smooth traffic, the Hanoi Department of Construction requests the investor and construction unit to urgently dismantle the entire temporary traffic diversion sign system installed from March 2026; and at the same time restore the traffic sign system to its original state and be responsible for ensuring traffic safety during operation.

This agency also requested the Traffic Police force (Hanoi City Police) to strengthen traffic regulation and guidance, minimizing the risk of congestion in the early days of reorganizing traffic.
Local authorities in Bo De ward and Hoan Kiem ward area are required to promote propaganda to help people understand the new relocation plan.
Along with that, the Department of Transport Inspection and the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board will coordinate to supervise the implementation and promptly handle arising issues.
According to a representative of the Hanoi Department of Construction, the traffic restoration on Long Bien Bridge is expected to contribute to reducing pressure on neighboring roads, while ensuring safety for the historically valuable traffic infrastructure project of the Capital.
