Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang has just signed and issued Document No. 111/UBND-TH on the implementation of Directive No. 36/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, requesting departments, agencies, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards to synchronously implement solutions to organize the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year happily, healthily, safely, and economically.
According to the document, the Hanoi People's Committee requests localities and units to closely follow the direction of the Government, the City Party Committee and the plans that have been issued, focusing on caring for the material and spiritual life of the People, especially people with meritorious services to the revolution and social protection beneficiaries, so that all people in the Capital have a warm and peaceful Tet.
The city requires close monitoring of price and market developments; strengthening forecasting and market management, proactively balancing supply and demand of goods, ensuring the supply of gasoline and essential goods. At the same time, strictly inspect the origin and quality of products, ensure food safety, environmental sanitation and disease prevention and control.
Along with that, localities and units synchronously deploy plans to ensure traffic order and safety, security, social safety, communication and fire and explosion prevention; promote propaganda, raise people's awareness of law compliance; resolutely prevent the production, trading, and illegal use of firecrackers and explosives during Tet.
Hanoi People's Committee also requested to organize traffic diversion in areas and intersections with high density; proactively develop plans to ensure passenger transport and goods transportation to serve people and overseas Vietnamese returning home for Tet.
Localities and units continue to embellish urban areas, strengthen environmental sanitation in streets and residential areas; decorate green trees, flower gardens, lighting systems; open playgrounds, relics, and scenic spots to serve people to celebrate Tet safely and civilizedly.
Notably, the city will organize fireworks displays to celebrate the New Year combined with traditional fireworks with modern lighting display technologies, ensuring safety and economy according to the approved plan.
In addition, Hanoi requests units to strictly maintain the on-duty regime, ensuring smooth work handling before, during and after Tet; not to let administrative procedures be congested; strengthen prevention and strictly handle acts of harassment and negativity, creating conditions for businesses to stabilize production and business, and complete socio-economic development goals in 2026.
