In Thach Ha district, the Executive Committee of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee held a ceremony to announce Resolution No. 1283 of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Decision to establish the new Thach Ha District Party Committee.
Implementing the administrative unit arrangement in the period of 2023 - 2025, Ha Tinh will reduce 1 district and 7 communes/wards. From January 1, 2025, Ha Tinh province will have 12 district-level administrative units, including 9 districts, 2 towns and 1 city; 209 commune-level administrative units, including 170 communes, 25 wards and 14 towns.
To implement the arrangement of district-level units, 11 communes of Thach Ha district were merged into Ha Tinh city, Ho Do commune of Loc Ha district was also merged into Ha Tinh city, the remaining 11 communes and towns of Loc Ha district were merged into Thach Ha district, and the name of Loc Ha district was deleted.
After the arrangement, Thach Ha district has 22 commune-level administrative units, including 20 communes and 2 towns, with a natural area of more than 325km2 and a population of 190,335 people.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee announced Decision 1086 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on the establishment of the Thach Ha District Party Committee on the basis of merging the Thach Ha District Party Committee and the Loc Ha District Party Committee from January 1, 2025.
Announcing the decision of the Standing Committee of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee to appoint the Party Executive Committee of Thach Ha district, appoint the Standing Committee of Thach Ha district Party Committee, appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of Thach Ha district People's Committee to hold the position of Secretary of Thach Ha district Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.
Also on January 1, many other localities in Ha Tinh province organized the announcement of Resolution No. 1283 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Ha Tinh province for the period 2023 - 2025; launching new commune, ward and town administrative units.
