On June 29, the leader of Duc Dong commune (Vu Quang district, Ha Tinh) said that on the afternoon of June 28, in Duc Dong commune (Vu Quang district, Ha Tinh), a drowning incident occurred, causing two brothers to tragically die.
The victims were N.T.B (12 years old) and his younger brother N.T.A.K (4 years old), residing in Thanh Phuc village.
According to initial information, the two children went out to play at the Ngan Truoi water channel, about 300m from their house.
While washing his hands at the edge of the canal, K slipped and fell into the water. Brother B immediately rushed down to save them, but they were unfortunately swept away by the strong water.
At around 8:00 p.m. the same day, the bodies of the two children were found in the garbage barrier area on the canal, in Hoa Lac commune (Duc Tho district), nearly 1.5km from the scene.
The authorities coordinated with the families to bring the victims' bodies home for funeral arrangements.
The local government said that the two children's family is in especially difficult circumstances and needs sharing and support from the community.
