On March 14, information from the People's Committee of Trung Ly commune (Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province) said that a couple had just died after eating mushrooms taken from the forest.
Previously, on the morning of March 3, Mr. L.V.T (born in 1968) and his wife, Mrs. H.T.H (born in 1971) in Co Cai village, Trung Ly commune, went into the forest to cut down bananas to feed pigs. While entering the forest, Mr. T and his wife picked wild mushrooms (small, white) to cook soup.
Late that night, Mr. T and his wife vomited a lot, so they were taken to Muong Lat District General Hospital by relatives for emergency care.
Here, the doctor predicted that the patient was severely poisoned and transferred him to Thanh Hoa General Hospital.
After that, both husband and wife were transferred to Bach Mai Hospital for treatment. However, due to severe poisoning, the two patients died on March 9.
