On the evening of March 5, informing reporters, the leader of Au Lau Ward People's Committee, Lao Cai province, said that at about 2:30 pm on the same day, a tragic drowning incident occurred in the area, killing 2 female students.
According to the leader, at the above time, 6 students in Van Phu ward came to the dam area in Au Lau ward to play. After that, 2 14-year-old female students unfortunately slipped and fell into the deep dam and drowned.
After receiving the news, local authorities coordinated with functional units and people to the scene to carry out rescue and relief work, bringing the two students in distress ashore.
However, at that time, both victims had died. Functional agencies handed over the bodies of the 2 female students to their families for funeral arrangements," the leader of Au Lau Ward People's Committee informed.
