For ships returning from India and countries with potential risk of Nipah virus infection within 14 days, ship owners and agents are requested to notify 12 hours before the ship arrives at the port. If the crew members on board have symptoms: fever, headache, muscle pain, vomiting and sore throat, then dizziness, drowsiness, consciousness disorders may appear... they must immediately notify the International Health Quarantine Center to carry out medical quarantine and take samples at the anchorage area (located by Hai Phong Maritime Administration).
State management agencies at the Port coordinate with the International Health Quarantine Agency to organize monitoring and detect suspicious cases at border gates, only carry out entry and exit procedures for people and vehicles when there is confirmation that the health quarantine has been completed.
