On the afternoon of October 22, due to the impact of heavy rain lasting from the circulation of storm No. 12 (Fengshen), the road to Tay Giang - Ka Lam border gate (in Hung Son commune, Da Nang city) suffered a serious landslide, causing thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil to spill onto the road, completely cutting off the main traffic route connecting the commune center with the border gate.

Mr. Zoram Buon - Chairman of Hung Son Commune People's Committee - said that the landslide was recorded at the Cha Noc village intersection, a section near the turn into A Tu village, about 4km from the border gate. "Thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil from the positive slope slid down, overflowing onto the entire concrete road, making it impossible for vehicles to pass," Mr. Buon informed.
Local authorities are mobilizing forces and machinery to urgently fix the problem and open the route soon, and at the same time advise people to absolutely not move through the landslide area during heavy rain to avoid the risk of landslides and rocks falling from the positive slope.

Meanwhile, other mountainous localities such as Tra Doc and Tra Lien communes are also proactively implementing plans to respond to storms and floods, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
In Tra Doc commune, commune leaders directly inspected the fields in villages 7, 8, and 9 - where there were nearly 20 high-risk landslides. By noon of the same day, the authorities had supported the evacuation of 17 households in Rua and Ong Truong tops (village 9) to safety before 3pm. The Commune Military Command has put up warning signs at landslides on the DH8 route, increased supervision, and instructed people to proactively avoid them.
In Tra Lien commune, there are 17 high-risk points, including 11 landslides at the foot of the hill in Tak Nu village and 6 flooded points in Phuong Dong village, Dinh Yen, directly affecting 131 households and Huong Tra Kindergarten.

The commune government has made a list of people to be evacuated to safe places, selecting village cultural houses, schools and health stations as evacuation points. Police, military and militia forces are on duty 24/7 to support people to tie up their houses, move assets and evacuate when necessary.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Vuong - Chairman of Tra Lien Commune People's Committee - affirmed: "The locality has directed the villages to make a specific list for each household and each person, determined not to let any people stay in the dangerous area. Ensuring the safety of life is a top priority.
Currently, forces in Tay Giang are still trying to clear the route and evacuate people from high-risk areas, in the context of continued rain and increased landslide risks.
