On March 27, Con Tien Commune Police (Quang Tri province) said that the unit had just discovered many locations of protective fences on the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway that were seriously damaged.
Specifically, in the section passing through Truong Ty village, there are 13 fence ropes with a total length of about 60m that buffaloes and cows came in and pressed on, causing them to collapse into the ground, forming lumps. Notably, many sections of the fence have completely disappeared, creating large gaps.
This situation makes the fence no longer promote its separating function, potentially posing a risk of buffaloes and cows freely entering the highway, threatening traffic safety.
According to records, the area adjacent to the fence is a concrete road and rubber forest, where people regularly graze buffaloes and cows.
After discovering the incident, Con Tien Commune Police conducted an inspection of the current situation, made a record and coordinated with the expressway management unit to soon fix it and ensure the safety of the project.
The commune police said that recently in the area, there is still a situation where some households graze buffaloes, cows and livestock close to the highway protection fence area. This not only damages the barrier system but also creates gaps for livestock to enter the highway, affecting security and safety of the province's key traffic route.
Con Tien Commune Police recommends that people absolutely do not graze livestock near highway fences, and proactively manage and keep livestock, avoiding damage to public property and the risk of traffic accidents.
