After the barge collision with Ghenh bridge, Railway Transport Joint Stock Company announced the suspension of trains SE22, TN4 and SE10 departing from Saigon station on March 6.
After the barge collision with Ghenh bridge, Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company announced the temporary suspension of trains SE22, TN4 and SE10 departing from Saigon station on March 6.
For passenger trains passing through this area, the railway industry organizes passenger transit by road between Bien Hoa station and Di An station to continue the journey.
On March 6, the trains organized for transfer include:
Trains departing from Saigon station: SE2, SE4, SNT2 (passengers traveling by train to Di An station will be transferred by car to Bien Hoa station).
Trains arriving at Bien Hoa station: SE7, SE5, SPT1, SE11 (passengers are transferred by car from Bien Hoa station to Di An station to continue boarding the train).
It is expected that about 1,500 passengers will be transferred during the day.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (45 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) said that she bought a ticket to Khanh Hoa. Initially, the train was scheduled to depart at 1:30 PM, but due to an incident at Ghenh bridge, the plan was changed.
The station staff instructed me to switch to the train at 7:30 pm tonight. The train will go from Saigon station to Di An station, then passengers will be taken by shuttle bus to Bien Hoa station to continue on the train" - Ms. Huong said.

Meanwhile, Ms. Kim Thuy (65 years old) and two friends bought train tickets from Saigon station to Ninh Hoa (Khanh Hoa province). At about 10:30 am, the train left the station, but after running for a while, they had to turn back to Saigon station due to an incident.
The station has refunded tickets to passengers so that they can book another trip or take a passenger car themselves. However, we have not been able to book a car because most trips have run out of tickets, the nearest trip will only be available after 9 pm" - Ms. Thuy said, and the three people are still waiting at Saigon station.

According to the new train schedule updated at Saigon station after the Ghenh bridge incident, from this afternoon to tonight there are 3 departing trains at Saigon station, including: SE4 at 7:25 PM, SE2 at 8:35 PM (to Hanoi) and SNT2 at 9:40 PM (to Nha Trang).

Previously, at about 10:30 am on March 6, a barge without cargo moved from upstream to Ho Chi Minh City. When it reached the Ghenh bridge area (Bien Hoa, Dong Nai province), the vehicle crashed strongly into the bridge underpass while the tide was low.

The collision caused the boundary beam of the bridge to bend, and the rails on the bridge to deviate, forcing the railway industry to temporarily suspend the operation of the North-South railway line through the area to inspect and fix the incident.
The incident caused many trains to be delayed, canceled or had to adjust their routes, affecting passengers' travel plans during the day.
