The North-South railway was severely eroded, the railway was hanging after prolonged heavy rain in Khanh Hoa

Khanh Hoa - Prolonged heavy rain caused a section of the North-South railway in the Nha Trang - Cay Cay section to erode nearly 10m deep, causing the railway to be suspended.

On the morning of November 21, Mr. Le Quang Vinh - Director of Phu Khanh Railway Exploitation Branch - said that the about 100m long railway section in the Nha Trang - Cay Cay section (Khanh Hoa) has been seriously damaged by continuous floods for many days.

According to Mr. Vinh, heavy rain combined with strong floodwaters caused strong erosion, blowing away the entire roadbed, causing the railway to be "suspended" floating in the air.

This situation makes it impossible to organize train trips through the route.

Accordingly, the total rainfall from 1:00 a.m. on November 20 to 1:00 a.m. on November 21 was recorded: the North had 100 - 250mm of rain; the South had 20 - 60mm of rain.

Some places with particularly heavy rain: Dai Lanh has 451.2mm of rain; Hoa Son Lake has 529mm of rain

From early morning of November 21 to early morning of November 23, Khanh Hoa will continue to have moderate to heavy rain, with some places in the North experiencing very heavy rain and thunderstorms.

The North has rainfall of 100 - 200mm, some places over 300mm; The South has rainfall of 70 - 120mm, some places over 150mm

The authorities recommend that people monitor flood warning bulletins, beware of the risk of flash floods, landslides and deep flooding in low-lying areas.
