Painful to see the child in pain
Nearly 3 months after the incident, the 11th grade female student at Nong Cong 2 High School (in Nong Cong District, Thanh Hoa Province), Mr. Le Van Thanh (father of the beaten female student) is still shocked and heartbroken when recalling the day his daughter was beaten by a group of people when she intervened to stop a group of friends from fighting.
According to Mr. Thanh, on the evening of October 5, 2024, his daughter, G.N, came home from school with many unusual symptoms. When asked, she was afraid and did not dare to say anything. The next day (October 6), she saw a clip recording the scene of her daughter being beaten online. When asked, she admitted that she was beaten by a group of friends, causing pain all over her body, especially her neck. She was transferred to the emergency room and treated at Viet Duc Hospital (Hanoi). After examination, it was determined that she had a fracture of the second cervical vertebra, two little fingernails were detached from her fingers, had to be immobilized, had a stiff neck and could not walk.
During the months of treating her, his wife had to quit her job to stay home and take care of their daughter, while he had to run around everywhere, sometimes worrying about money for her treatment, sometimes working with the authorities to handle the matter, causing his family's life to be turned upside down.

"What pains me the most is every time I see my child, from a smart, active class monitor, now having to have a stiff neck, lie in one place and have to reserve her results to wait to retake the class next year," Mr. Thanh said heartbrokenly.
It is known that nearly 3 months after the incident, Mr. Thanh's family recently took N to Viet Duc Hospital for a re-examination. Here, the CT scan results showed a slight forward slippage of the C2 vertebrae, grade I, with a fracture line of the right posterior arch of C2. Currently, N's health has not yet recovered.
Seeking justice for my daughter
Mr. Thanh said that after his daughter was beaten, Nong Cong 2 High School intervened. The school's verification results showed that on October 4, a female student of class 10A6, while returning from school, saw a female student of class 10A5 walking behind her talking and laughing with another friend. The female student of class 10A6 thought that her friend was talking badly about her, leading to an argument. On the afternoon of October 5, when school was out, the two female students continued to argue and quarrel. Afterwards, the school security broke up the fight and all the students went home. However, when they reached Tan Phuc commune, a fight broke out. As a result, student G.N (a student of class 11 at the school) was beaten by a gang while trying to stop a group of friends from fighting, resulting in 23% health injuries.
In addition to the school suspending the group of female students for 2 weeks, Nong Cong District Police also decided to prosecute the case and prosecute the 6 female students who participated in the gang beating.
According to Mr. Thanh, during the process of resolving the case, he felt frustrated many times due to the delay in receiving and handling the case by the authorities. “The police have prosecuted the students involved, however, they are still going to school as usual. I don’t know how it will be handled,” said Mr. Thanh.
To clarify the issue of handling the group of students who participated in beating his daughter, Mr. Thanh said that he had sent a petition to the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province requesting measures to handle the matter, thereby also serving as a deterrent and avoiding similar cases that could happen, affecting the children's future.
