
The activities of VNVC have received support from the City Party Committee, People's Committee and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, demonstrating the effectiveness of the public-private partnership model and promoting the role of private healthcare in improving the quality of community health care. This is also a specific step for the direction of developing modern, proactive, and sustainable preventive medicine in the spirit of Resolution 72 of the Politburo, focusing on shifting from treatment to proactive disease prevention, in which vaccination plays an important role.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that Ho Chi Minh City is strongly shifting its thinking from treating diseases to proactively preventing diseases according to the direction of the Central Government and the direction of General Secretary To Lam for the health sector. Accordingly, the City orients the development of Con Dao healthcare according to a multi-layer model including: the first layer is primary health care, preventive medicine; the second layer is investment in grassroots healthcare, basic health care for people; and the third layer is the development of specialized, high-tech healthcare, meeting the increasing treatment requirements in the locality.
The city acknowledges, commends, highly appreciates and thanks the VNVC Vaccination Center System and the Tam Anh General Hospital System for accompanying and participating in this multi-level healthcare chain, contributing to improving preventive medicine capacity, community health care and increasing access to high-quality medical services for soldiers and people in Con Dao. The final result is that people enjoy better protection, care and health improvement services right in the locality," said Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc.
Mr. Phan Trong Hien - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Dao Special Zone shared that the locality still faces many difficulties in accessing specialized medical services, while the health care needs of people, officers, soldiers and tourists are increasing. "VNVC's donation of cold storage to preserve vaccines that meet international GSP standards and the deployment of free flu vaccination for soldiers and people are of practical significance, contributing to improving preventive medicine capacity, increasing vaccine preservation and stockpiling capacity and proactively responding to epidemics for the locality," Mr. Hien emphasized.

Mr. Ngo Chi Dung - Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of the VNVC Vaccination Center System said that VNVC will sponsor tens of thousands of doses of new generation flu vaccine from Sanofi Pasteur (France) to vaccinate all soldiers and people in Con Dao for 3 consecutive years, 1 dose per person per year. These vaccines will be prioritized for supply according to the vaccination deployment plan of the Con Dao Special Military-Civilian Medical Center and will be stored in the first GSP standard cold storage in Con Dao donated by VNVC.
In the first phase, VNVC dispatched a team of doctors, nurses and VNVC medical staff from the mainland directly to the island to deploy vaccinations for about 500 officers, soldiers and people of Con Dao. At the same time, VNVC will then guide and transfer all safe vaccination procedures, cold storage operation procedures for preserving vaccines according to GSP international standards so that local health workers can master the technology, vaccine preservation procedures as well as effectively and safely use large quantities of vaccine sources for many consecutive years.
VNVC also commits to prioritizing the supply of new generation vaccines, scarce vaccines to serve the needs of vaccination to prevent diseases for soldiers and people of Con Dao, to promptly prevent epidemics, improve health, and ensure safety for the increasing number of tourists coming to this sacred and beautiful island region.
Present from early morning to get flu vaccinated at the Military-Civilian Medical Center of Con Dao Special Zone, Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Loan (63 years old) - daughter of former political prisoner Huynh Van Bien emotionally said that for many years she has often had a prolonged flu but has not had the conditions to go to the mainland for vaccination. "People on the island every time they want to get medical examination and treatment or get vaccinated, they have to go to the mainland very hard and costly. I hope VNVC will continue to bring more types of vaccines to the island so that people can get vaccinated to protect their health, especially children and the elderly, people with background diseases like us," Ms. Loan shared.

Also at the ceremony, Tam Anh General Hospital - a member of the medical and health care ecosystem with VNVC - also donated an electric vehicle worth 500 million VND to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Museum - Library (Con Dao facility), contributing to strengthening operating conditions and serving professional work in preserving and promoting historical and cultural values in the sea and islands rich in historical significance of the Fatherland.
