As reported by Lao Dong newspaper, at around 12:30 on August 30, a major fire broke out at a car and motorbike parking lot at the foot of Vinh Tuy bridge (Hanoi).
According to the reporter at the scene, at least 5 fire trucks along with dozens of officers, police officers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police, and forces at the facility were mobilized to control the fire.
At that time, the authorities temporarily blocked the Nguyen Khoi dike road and the entrance to Vinh Tuy bridge towards Long Bien to serve the fire fighting work. Vehicles from Vinh Tuy Bridge going down to Nguyen Khoi towards Hoan Kiem and from Nguyen Van Vien to Vinh Tuy Bridge were partially congested.

Due to the fire spreading quickly and being fiercely engulfed, many motorbikes in the parking lot were burned to the frame.
The fire also created a column of black smoke, rising tens of meters high. The ground of Vinh Tuy Bridge (upper the parking lot) and the bridge railings were covered with black smoke, some locations showed signs of peeling concrete due to heat.

At around 2:00 p.m., the fire was completely extinguished. The cause of the fire and the damage are being investigated and clarified.
