On the afternoon of March 24, SAR vessel 413 (under the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center) supported bringing a foreign crew member with head injuries safely ashore in Phuoc Thang ward (HCMC) for further treatment.
Previously, on March 23, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center received information from the ship MT Navig8 Wolf (Singapore nationality) traveling from Korea to Singapore reporting that 1 crew member on board, Mr. P.M. C (born in 1969, Filipino nationality) was injured in the right head area, with severe pain and severely affected right eye vision. The captain requested support to bring the patient ashore for timely treatment. At this time, the ship MT Navig8 Wolf was about 280 nautical miles southeast of Mui Vung Tau.
Therefore, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center has requested the Coastal Information Station to connect medical advice; guide ships to change direction at Vung Tau cape. At the same time, specialized ship SAR 413 was mobilized to perform the task of supporting victims.
After approaching the MT Navig8 Wolf ship at sea, the rescue force transferred the patient to SAR 413 ship, performed initial first aid, quickly brought him ashore and safely docked at the port at 4:40 pm on March 24. Then proceeded to hand him over to functional agencies and representatives of the ship owner to transfer to a specialized medical facility to treat the distressed crew member.
