On April 2, a delegation of leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) led by Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - inspected the scene of the fire at No. 66B and 66C, Xom Coi Ward, District 8.
Accompanying him were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung - Member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Police and local authorities.

At the scene of the fire, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc visited, encouraged and gave money to support the victim's family, with a total amount of VND 55 million, deducted from Ho Chi Minh City Rescue Fund (VND 50 million for households lost, 5 million VND for affected households). At the same time, it is required that the authorities will soon investigate and clarify the causes, overcome the consequences and support the families of the victims.

Local government leaders said that at 2:03 p.m. the same day, a fire broke out at 66B and 66C Mac Van Street, Xom Coi Ward, District 8. Immediately after receiving the news, at 2:26 a.m., the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC-CNCH) was present at the scene.
The two burned houses have a total area of about 70m2, both with floating attics. Of which, house number 66B had 8 residents, 5 of whom were lucky to escape safely. At 3:41 a.m., the authorities determined that 3 victims had died in the house, including: Mr. H.A.D (born in 1979), Ms. L.T.B.T (born in 1998) and V.D.K (born in 2019, daughter of Ms. T).

Regarding property damage, house 66B was completely burned down, house 66C had its southern part burned down. Authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify the cause of the fire...
On the side of District 8 authorities, they have also promptly supported families, of which District 8 supported 35 million VND for affected households (30 million VND for lost households, 5 million VND for affected households); Xom Coi ward supported 40 million VND for lost households...
