The victim was identified as M.T.G.B (born in 2009, residing in Ward 5, Dong Ha City), a student at Nguyen Hue Secondary School.
According to initial information, at around 2:30 p.m. the same day, B and a group of about 5 friends went to the dam area to have fun and swim. While swimming, B was unfortunately swept away by the water, and the group of friends who were with him tried to rescue him but failed.
Upon receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Tri Province Police immediately mobilized forces and vehicles to the scene, coordinating with local forces and people to organize search and rescue work.
As of 5:30 p.m., the whereabouts of the missing victim have not yet been found.
