On November 26, the Association of the Elderly of Dong Thap province held a conference to honor outstanding elderly people participating in building the grassroots political system in the period of 2019 - 2024.
In the period of 2019 - 2024, the whole province has more than 3,400 elderly people participating in party organizations, government, socio-political organizations, and social organizations. At the same time, they actively participate in movements and campaigns for social security and welfare such as: "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", "The whole people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", "The whole people unite to build a cultural life"...
Through propaganda work, more than 940,000 members and people were mobilized and persuaded to donate nearly 280,000 square meters of land and participate in nearly 1.6 million working days to carry out many social welfare projects and works such as: building bridges and roads, Great Unity houses... At the conference, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, the Provincial People's Committee and the Association of the Elderly of Dong Thap province to 27 Elderly people with outstanding achievements.
