On August 27, Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV) in coordination with Da Nang City People's Committee announced the implementation of the Project to Renovate and Expand Passenger Terminal T1 and the Project to Expand Aircraft Parking - phase 1 at Da Nang International Airport (Da Nang airport).
Notably, the T1 Terminal Renovation and Expansion Project has a total investment of more than 9,936 billion VND from ACV's capital. After completion, the terminal's operating capacity will be increased to 14 million passengers/year, including about 10 million domestic passengers and 4 million international passengers.

In addition to expanding and renovating the terminal, the project also synchronously invests in elevated bridges, technical houses, high-rise parking lots combined with commercial services, transportation systems, parking lots, landscapes, wastewater treatment, garbage collection and technical infrastructure items.
According to the plan, the project is expected to start construction in August 2027. The station expansion will be completed and put into operation in January 2029; the entire existing station renovation will be completed in August 2029.
In parallel, ACV is implementing the Aircraft Parking Expansion Project - phase 1 with a total investment of more than 170 billion VND, adding 6 Code C aircraft parking positions. The project is expected to start construction in December 2026 and be completed and put into operation in July 2027. The total investment of the 2 projects is more than 10,100 billion VND.
Speaking at the event, leaders of Da Nang City People's Committee assessed that upgrading and expanding airport infrastructure is an urgent requirement in the face of the growth rate of tourism, trade and air transport demand.
The city requested ACV and contractors to focus resources and coordinate to complete procedures to ensure the progress of the two projects; and at the same time requested departments and branches to quickly handle issues related to administrative procedures, connecting infrastructure and site clearance.

Within the framework of the program, the architectural plan for the expanded T1 Terminal of CPG Consulting Co., Ltd. was selected after the competition. The plan was assessed to meet the requirements for function, operational safety, and at the same time aim for a modern and passenger-friendly appearance.
Another new point is the official flight information service integrated on the Danang Smart City application. The AODB airport database system is connected to the smart city platform, helping people and tourists look up and update flight information on a unified platform.
Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong - Chairman of ACV's Board of Directors said that simultaneously increasing the capacity of Terminal T1 and adding a parking lot will increase the overall operating capacity of Da Nang International Airport, creating room for air transport growth in the coming years.
