In 2025, the Prime Minister assigned Kien Giang province to recruit 1,751 citizens, including 1,350 military citizens and 401 police citizens, assigned to 6 units including: Coast Guard Region 4 Command, Navy Region 5 Command, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, Division 330, Brigade 950/Military Region 9.
The selection and conscription of citizens for military service has been carried out strictly by Kien Giang province from the beginning, ensuring fairness, objectivity and compliance with the law. The Party Committee - Provincial Military Command has actively played a good role in advising the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Military Service Council to effectively carry out the selection and conscription of citizens. At the same time, it has proactively developed and organized the implementation of many guiding documents, led, directed, and organized training for the Military Service Councils at all levels to carry out the selection and conscription of citizens for military service in 2025 in accordance with the law and the selection process, creating high consensus among all classes of people.
After receiving the directive from the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Military Service Council issued a plan on selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2025. Colonel Nguyen Van Nganh - Commander of the Military Command of Kien Giang Province - said: The Provincial Military Command directs, guides, and urges the Military Commands of cities and districts, advises local Party committees and authorities to deploy tasks close to the actual situation, according to the motto: Be sure in every stage, every step, quality is the top priority.
“100% of young people in Kien Giang province meet the standards to join the army according to regulations, the quality of young people joining the army this year is higher than in 2024. Young people volunteer to join the army is over 80%; party members account for 3.5%, health category 1, 2 is over 50%; the rest are category 3; college and university degrees account for over 12%,” Colonel Nguyen Van Nganh informed.
