On the morning of August 30, thousands of officers, soldiers, students and people of Dien Bien and Cao Bang participated in the program "Joining Vietnam to Advance 2026", in conjunction with activities organized simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities across the country.
In Dien Bien, more than 5,000 people participated in a walk in response to the program. Specifically at the bridge point of 7/5 Square, Dien Bien Phu ward, about 2,000 delegates and forces participated in a 1.5-2km long journey.

The delegation departed from 7/5 Square, followed Vo Nguyen Giap street to the roundabout of Central Market 1, then returned, went to the gate of the Provincial People's Council headquarters and returned to the starting point.
At the same time, in Cao Bang, the program took place at Km5 Square, Thuc Phan ward, with a scale of about 3,500 people. Provincial leaders, officials, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, workers, athletes, students participated.
Together with Vietnam to Advance 2026" is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of National Defense and the Central Youth Union, carrying the message "Journey of 10 billion green steps - For a sustainable Vietnam".
After the flag salute ceremony, walking activities simultaneously took place in localities. Footsteps from Dien Bien, Cao Bang - two northern border provinces - contributed to the common journey, spreading the spirit of solidarity, health training and responsibility to the community.
This is the second year the program has been organized. In 2025, the program attracted more than 1.1 million participants, recording more than 6 billion steps, far exceeding the target of 1 billion steps.



This year, the program aims for 10 billion steps, contributing to spreading a green lifestyle, raising awareness of environmental protection and aiming to establish a Guinness World Record for the number of localities participating in environmental walks.
