By 12:30 PM on August 29, according to statistics on the "Joining Vietnam to Advance" program portal, Lam Dong had 132,860,647 registered steps, leading 34 provinces and cities to participate.
Following Lam Dong are Ho Chi Minh City with more than 116.6 million steps and Hanoi with more than 109.9 million steps.
The above results show the positive response of officials, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, union members, association members, students, workers and people in the province to the program carrying the message "10 billion green steps - For a sustainable Vietnam".
According to the plan, at 6 am on August 30, the program "Joining Vietnam to Advance" 2026 will be held simultaneously in Lam Dong province.
The flag salute ceremony is held in 124 communes, wards, and special zones according to the time frame of the National Flag Raising Ceremony at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi.
The provincial-level opening ceremony took place at Ong Dia Stone Beach Park, Phu Thuy ward.
After the opening ceremony, delegates, along with officials, civil servants, public employees, police, military forces, workers, union members, association members, students and people participated in walking according to plan.
Together Vietnam Advances" in 2026 is the second year the program has been organized, implemented by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
The peak activity takes place in two days, August 29 and 30, in 34 provinces and cities.
The program aims to mobilize people to exercise, form exercise habits, and at the same time spread green lifestyles, community spirit and the awareness of joining hands to build a sustainable Vietnam.
One of the notable goals of this year's program is to aim to establish a Guinness World Record through walking, saluting the flag and singing the national anthem simultaneously.
Continuing to register and accumulate steps on August 29 and 30 is expected to help Lam Dong maintain its leading position, while contributing to the common goal of 10 billion green steps for a sustainable Vietnam.
