On June 24, the Executive Committee of the Can Tho City, Soc Trang and Hau Giang Provinces Former People's Public Security Associations held a conference to merge the Can Tho City Former People's Public Security Associations according to a new organizational model.
Speaking at the Conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Xinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, Hero of the People's Armed Forces - stated that this is an urgent matter, requiring discussion, consensus and high determination to responsibility of the three localities.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Xinh requested that the Conference discuss carefully the structure and number of the Provisional Executive Committee, moving towards electing the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Can Tho City People's Public Security Former Association after the merger, ensuring consensus and solidarity to operate the Association effectively.
Comrade Nguyen Van Hung - Member of the Vietnam People's Public Security Former Association, Head of the Economic - Financial Committee of the Vietnam People's Public Security Former Association - assessed that organizing the Conference is necessary and decisive at the present time, ensuring democracy in the implementation process, creating favorable conditions to take care of the lives of members in the area in the coming time.
At the conference, representatives of the Association of Former People's Committees of Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces agreed and were highly unanimous with the policy of merging according to the new organizational model, which is a premise to further promote the spirit of solidarity and responsibility to make the Association's activities more effective.
With the spirit of democracy, unity and solidarity, the delegates discussed and voted to elect the Executive Committee of 49 comrades. Of which, the Standing Committee of 18 comrades, 1 comrade Chairman, 10 comrades Vice Chairmen, 8 comrades of the Inspection Committee to manage and operate the activities of the new Can Tho City People's Public Security Former Association. Ensure the structure of personnel arranged in 3 locations, converging all the conditions of prestige, experience, and health to participate in leading and operating the new Association after the merger.
Concluding the conference, Major General Ha Nghia Lo - Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Public Security Forces Association requested that the Standing Committee, after the Conference, will hold a meeting to complete the procedures, put the Association into smooth, effective and efficient operation.
In addition, continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, promote intelligence, effectively implement and implement directives and resolutions of the Party at all levels and the Public Security sector, especially Directive 08 of the Ministry of Public Security on strengthening management and operation of Former People's Public Security officers at all levels and retired Public Security officers.
