According to statistics as of 7:00 a.m. on August 25, Hue City has evacuated 158 households with 452 people to safe places to protect property and people's lives from the impact of storm No. 5.
The Hue City Hydrometeorological Station informed that due to rainfall of 10 - 50 mm in the past 24 hours, many reservoirs have kept water levels stable. Huong Dien and Binh Dien lakes alone are capable of withstanding rainfall of less than 300 mm, and Ta Trach lake of less than 500 mm. The Department of Agriculture and Environment has prepared operation plans to respond to rainfall from 150 - 500 mm and is ready to inter-reservoir to regulate water.
The reserve for storm prevention is also prepared: 20 tons of rice, 4,000 boxes of instant noodles, 100,000 bottles of water and fuel to meet emergency relief needs when needed.
All 1,125 fishing vessels, with more than 8,000 workers, have come to a safe anchorage area before the storm. Specialized units have also deployed to ensure safety for ponds, cages and support the harvest of Summer-Autumn rice with the slogan "greer at home than in the fields".
Flood-proof vehicles such as ships, boats and rescue tools are mobilized. The city also upgraded the communication system through hotline 112, Hue‐S and smart communication to maintain communication and propaganda in all situations.
Natural disaster prevention work has been comprehensively deployed to ensure people's safety against storm No. 5.
