As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of July 9, on National Highway 12B through Thuong Coc Commune, Phu Tho Province (formerly Thuong Coc Commune, Lac Son District, Hoa Binh Province), a large sinkhole suddenly appeared, causing concerns about traffic safety for local people and vehicles traveling here.

According to the reporter's records, the sinkhole is located close to the edge of the asphalt road, with a diameter of about more than 3m and a depth of more than 1m. The road surface was dug with a frog's jaw, creating a large hole under the road surface.
Immediately after grasping the situation, the local authorities have isolated the dangerous area, put up warning ropes and assigned forces to be on duty. At the same time, the Department of Construction of Phu Tho province sent technical staff and construction units to urgently deploy handling measures.

On the evening of July 9, Mr. Le Ngoc Quan - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Phu Tho province said that this was the second time this location had collapsed. Previously, on June 15, the area was filled, but the subsidence continued.
By 4:00 p.m. the same day, the leveling was complete. Although there are no difficulties in construction, the Department will continue to monitor the current situation to thoroughly handle it, ensuring long-term safety," Mr. Quan informed.
